Strata Collection - Vase 2

Erosion is as much an act of revealing as it is of removing. Over immense stretches of time, the surface of a landscape is worn away, exposing the layers, fractures and traces of what came before.

This vase draws from this process. Its tall, elongated form becomes almost like a section cut through the earth, with an irregular surface that shifts between softer horizontal lines and rougher areas that appear broken and exposed. Against this weathered exterior, the refined dark rim provides a deliberate point of contrast - a meeting of erosion and precision, where the passage of time is imagined through clay.
