Cocoon Collection - Sculpture 3
An alternative reading of the cocoon: not as a slow, protected unfolding, but as a sudden rupture - as if what was held inside gathered strength in silence, then burst out all at once. It’s the moment after containment, when the new form doesn’t emerge so much as it arrives.
There’s vigour in this piece - a sense of urgency and forward motion. The gesture feels more decisive, as though the boundary has been broken with purpose. It holds that tension between shelter and release: the cocoon still present, but no longer in control.
